Boldness by the Blood of Jesus

"Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the Holiest by the Blood of Jesus.. Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith.. For He is faithful that promised..." (Hebrews 10)

Praise The Lord that He desires us to approach Him boldly in faith, not like a thief breaking into a house, but like a child entering the home of his beloved father, knowing that because of His blood we have gained the promised eternal life, and we may safely stand where sin must be smitten.

Guilty, vile, helpless

“If Jehovah ‘spared not His Own Son’, how much less would he have spared guilty, worthless men if He had dealt with us ‘after our sins’ and rewarded us ‘according to our iniquities?’” –Charles Spurgeon

“Guilty, vile, and helpless we
Spotless Lamb of God was He;
Full atonement, can it be?
Hallelujah! What a Savior!”
(from “Man of Sorrows” by Philip Bliss)

“And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh hath He quickened together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses…” (Colossians 2:13)

So thankful today that I didn’t get what I deserve.

"this man receiveth sinners"

“This man receiveth sinners…” (Luke 15:1)

Even though this line was delivered by murmuring, condescending Pharisees, the truth of these words is made even more real by the fact that their utterance was motivated by a hatred of Jesus. One of the reasons they hated Him so much is because received sinners. Praise the Lord! The very thing that incited hatred from the “children of the Devil”, as Jesus referred to them, is the thing that brings “praise and honor and glory” to the Lord Jesus Christ.

So thankful today that “this man receiveth sinners”!

“Sinners Jesus Will Receive”
by Erdmann Neumeister

Sinners Jesus will receive;
  Sound this word of grace to all
Who the heavenly pathway leave,
  All who linger, all who fall.

REFRAIN:
Sing it o’er and o’er again;
Christ receiveth sinful men!
make the message clear and plain,
Christ receiveth sinful men!

He will take the sinfulest;
  Christ receiveth sinful men.

Now my heart condemns me not,
  Pure before the law I stand;

He who cleansed me from all spot,
  Satisfied its last demand.

Christ receiveth sinful men,
  Even me with all my sin;

Christ receiveth sinful men
even me with all my sin;
Purged from every spot and stain,
  Glory I shall enter in.
