Awake and sing...

“Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust…” (Isaiah 26:19)

Long before Christ came to die “for the sins of the whole world” Isaiah wrote with poetic beauty of a time when “the dead in Christ shall rise” and “so shall we ever be with the Lord.” Praise the Lord for the “hope of eternal life” that we have when we trust in Jesus because of His “resurrection from the dead.”
I miss my Dad so much, but am so thankful today for the promise from the Lord Jesus that “Because I live, ye shall live also…”

Vindicated

“…the Righteousness of God is unto all, and upon all them that believe…” (Romans 3:22)
“…He hath made Him to be sin for us…that we might be made the Righteousness of God…” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

So thankful today that I have not been acquitted, but vindicated. It’s not as if there wasn’t enough evidence of wrongdoing to put me away, because there was plenty; instead, I’ve been proven innocent of all my sins because of the merits of the Lord Jesus. When God looks upon me He does not see the wrongs that I’ve committed against Him, but instead sees His Righteousness. Praising the Lord today that His Righteousness is available to all Who believe on Him.

Keeper of Souls

“…let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him…”
(1 Peter 4:19)

Even in the midst of “suffering” brought about by the loss of a loved one, I am so thankful that the Lord Jesus will keep my Dad’s soul safe for all eternity, and that when the time comes for me to put off this mortal temple, that I too will “live together” with him and the Lord Jesus, and everyone else throughout history that “believed God and it was accounted unto them for righteousness.”

Unto You O Lord do I commit my spirit.
