The First Adam’s disobedience brought “sorrow”, “sweat”, and “thorns” ( Genesis 3:17-19)
The Second Adam’s obedience caused
Him to be “a man of sorrows” (Is 53:3), to sweat “great drops of blood” for our
sin (Luke 22:44) and to wear a “crown of thorns” (Mark 15:17).
Galatians 3:13 says that Christ “redeemed us from the curse of the law, being
made a curse for us.” He took the Curse upon Himself in order to redeem us from
its condemnation. During this celebrative season, I hope that you’ll ponder not
just the birth of Christ, but also His death and resurrection.
